The Dry Garden

The Dry Garden alongside the Ancient House was created by volunteers in 2020 despite the difficulties presented by the covid pandemic. There was preparatory work: a grant had been received previously from Anglian Water; permission was granted by the Landmark Trust (which holds the lease to the Ancient House) to change the appearance of the garden; in 2019 some of the committee members went on a training day to learn how to create a dry garden; the plants were bought from Beth Chatto in 2020.

Since summer 2020, the Garden has been a source of pleasure, starting from the time many emerged from shielding to find that instead of tumbleweed in the streets, something delightful awaited.
