Our Autumn planting date is
SATURDAY 25TH OCTOBER from 9am at The OLD SCHOOL, High St Clare.
We’ll be emptying the containers the week before in preparation.
This year, we have sourced our plants from The Garden Nursery in Sudbury. We will be planting white violas plus mixed purple, orange and yellow violas. We have also bought polyanthus in a variety of colours to add to the bright mix.
In addition, we’re planting a selection of Daffodils and Narcissi as well as bright Tulips, Flaming Flag for example. The bulbs will brighten up the early months of the New Year in our containers. In the Park, we will not be planting tulips in any of the planters there, since the local muntjac deer find them totally delicious. Daffodils they do not enjoy, so we will plant them exclusively in the 3 Park planters.
Later in the year, we’ll be planting small Minnow daffodils on the greensward between Common Street and Erbury Close to brighten that area and try to detract from the big green Gigaclear box!
If you have any time on Saturday, you would be very welcome – just bring a trowel, some gardening gloves and loads of enthusiasm. Many thanks.
